Wednesday Beer Can/Fun Race Series “2024 Marina Concert Series”

You are cordially invited to participate in the 2024 MARINA CONCERT SERIES to be held from July 10, 2024 through August 2024, and co-hosted by Community Sailing of Colorado, Denver Sailing Association, and Pelican Bay Marina at Cherry Creek Reservoir.

The Series is open to all sailing yachts that are currently docked, moored or dry stored at the Cherry Creek Marina or is a Denver Sailing Association member in good standing.

All yachts and competitors must meet all requirements set forth in this Notice of Series, and have signed the participant liability waiver form in order to become a Series participant.

The series is schedule for Wednesday evenings July 10 & 24 and August 14 & 28.

Skipper Meeting or Crew Matchup @ 5:00pm at the CSC tent next to the DSA clubhouse.
Skippers Meeting @ 5:15pm
Start of Race @ 6:00pm

This is a social sailing event co-hosted by Denver Sailing Association and Salty Dog Sailing Club.

Don’t miss this unique celebration where the lake meets the sky in a symphony of light and color. Bring your friends and family for an evening of joy and wonder at the Firework Sail-tacular!

Schedule of Events

Starting 4pm – The DSA clubhouse will be open with the community fridge, grill, outlets, etc. available for chilling drinks and heating food. This will a potluck style event, so bring your favorite dish to share!

6pm – Earlier Safety Briefing & Crew/Boat Match Up – We’ll host our first safety briefing at 6pm for boats leaving the docks earlier to go sailing. All participants must attend a mandatory safety briefing on the evening of the event. Safety equipment and lights can be made available, but the expectation is to bring your own running lights, personal floatation devices (PFDs), and any necessary equipment. Those looking for a ride will also be matched up at this time.

7pm – Later Safety Briefing & Last Call for Crew/Boat Match Up – This 7pm safety briefing will be for the later wave of boats heading out on the water. All participants must attend a mandatory safety briefing on the evening of the event. Safety equipment and lights can be made available, but the expectation is to bring your own running lights, personal floatation devices (PFDs), and any necessary equipment. This will be the last call for those looking for a ride to be matched up with a boat.

8:17pm – 9:30pm – Sunset to End of Greenwood Village Day Event – The City Of Greenwood Village will put on a firework display on the north side of Cherry Creek Reservoir dam after sunset. Denver Sailing Association and Salty Dogs Sailing Club boats will head out before sunset to find a spot to anchor and watch – no one left ashore!
