DSA has club loaner boats available to approved Flag and Admiral members for use during DSA events – races, regattas, and social sails.

How do I become approved to use the club boats?

Members who meet the following requirements:

  • Active DSA Flag or Admiral membership
  • Proof of adequate sailing skills
  • 18 years or older

Members can contact us with their interest in being approved for taking out DSA loaner boats. Please include a history of your sailing experience. Acceptance will depend on DSA board approval.

Users will have to fill out a waiver upon approval.

Approval can be revoked at any time for safety or conduct concerns.

How do I make a reservation?

Contact us with a list of dates/events that you would like to book. We will approve and enter reservations on a first come first serve basis.

Each loaner boat approved member can hold up to 3 reservations in advanced. Multi-day regattas count as a single reservation. The member will be able to reserve additional uses after an existing reservation has been used.

How to check-out check-in boats?

Series Races & Regattas

Club boat equipment are checked-out and checked-in at the DSA Clubhouse.

Club boats must be checked-out 1-1.5 hours ahead of first gun. First time users must check-out equipment 1.5 hours ahead of first gun.

Reservations of boats not checked-out 1 hour ahead of first gun may be forfeited and reassigned to another non-first time user, first come first serve.

Socials

Club boat equipment are checked-out and checked-in at the DSA Clubhouse.

Club boats must be checked-out within the first 30 minutes of the social event. First time users must check-out equipment at the start of the social event.

Reservations of boats not checked-out within the first 30 minutes of the social event may be forfeited and reassigned to another non-first time user, first come first serve.
