"Saturday, April 27 1 pm Race is cancelled due to weather." - Race Committee
Most of you know Cameron and Cooper Robinson, 'the Robinson boys', who grew up racing with us at Cherry Creek. The boys and 3 other Colorado sailors have qualified for the 2024 J24 World Championship Regatta in Seattle, Washington. The J24 Class Youth Team (all sailors under 24 years of age) are seeking help from their local community to fund their campaign - housing, food, event registration fees, membership dues, repairs, and transportation of 5 sailors plus a boat between Colorado and Washington. If you are able and would like to support these great DSA sailors, you can send a donate via their gofundme here: gofund.me/97c11eb2"We look forward to representing the US, our local sailing clubs, and encouraging a higher level of competition for other youth sailors! Thank you for your support!" - Cameron RobinsonGroup Photo: 2023 J/24 District 18 Championship Regatta Awards Ceremony

No races today due to the cold and snowy conditions, but we got a lovely new mailbox installed on the clubhouse for scoresheets and protests.

Cherry Creek State Park is helping the Cherry Creek Marina community by applying for funding to renovate the aging sea wall and docks. This process will take time as all of the various Colorado State Parks have important projects that seek funding and only a certain number are fulfilled a year, but we look forward to our projects eventually becoming funded and completed.

Sailing Instructions for the 2024 Series races are now LIVE on the website: www.denversailing.org/2024/02/2024-series/Take note of a new check-in process covered under item 14.1. During check-in "each boat shall sail by the RC Boat while RC is flying the Code Flag L, hail her boat type, sail number, and ***scored DSA member name*** and be acknowledged by RC with a return hail of her sail number." Why the new rule? This will allow those using rental/loaner sailboats to be scored properly. The same boat may be used by multiple members throughout a season, so we will be attributing scores to individual scored DSA member names instead of the boat's sail number.
