The Denver Sailing Association supports & fosters competition for sailors under the age of 19.

2008 Junior Open Events

These events are open to juniors, regardless of affiliation.

~~June 23-24 - USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival on Union Reservoir sponsored by the Union Sailing Club and SAIL~~. (Perhaps, not to be held in 2008.)
Sunday, July 5? - Union Sailing Club Sparkler Regatta on Union Reservoir.

Saturday & Sunday, August 2-3 - Dillon Open on Lake Dillon will include dinghies and juniors on course separate from keelboats.
Saturday, August 23 - DSA Cherry Creek Junior Open Regatta on Cherry Creek.

Sailing Schools/Camps for Juniors

Community Sailing of Colorado operates on Cherry Creek and Standley Lake (in Wesrtminster) providing beginning to advanced sailing courses. Cherry Creek Race Team provides intensive teaching and coaching of performance sailing.

Dillon Yacht Club has a junior program, which conducts learn-to-sail classes on Lake Dillon from late June through early August. The program's instruction levels are beginner through advanced.

Carter Lake Sailing Club operates on Carter Lake & is reinstituting its junior learn-to-sail program.

Aspen Yacht Club operates on Ruedi Reservoir
Jim Young, an Olympic Sailing Coach, provides clinics and coaching, often at Granby Resrvoir.
