DSA Members — Here is the 2017 DSA Race Committee Schedule Workbook. Please check it out to see what slots are available and then send an email to the Race Committee Chair to request assignment to the slots of your choice. Then, once assigned, please review periodically to confirm when you are scheduled for Race Committee Duty. Each DSA member is required to serve as Race Committee (RC) at least twice during the season. Two other volunteers are needed each race day.
Instructional materials for preparing to serve on race committee are available on the Race Management page. RC instructional materials are also available on the RC boat. The Race Committee Chair will confirm the dates that match your preferences, and will let you know what they are. He will forward, a week before you are scheduled, instructions for working on Race Committee. Once you are assigned specific dates, you are responsible for meeting the RC duties or finding a replacement should a subsequent conflict arise. If you do swap your assignment with another member, be sure to let the Race Committee Chair Race Committee Chair know. If you do not specify your preferences, the Race Committee Chair will contact you to assign RC time slots. It should be noted that if you race before you have committed to your RC dates, you are only able to carry two (2) race day results (NoRC). If you race more than 2 days, the older race results will be deleted. Here are the Sailing Instructions for the Thaw-out, Spring, Summer, and Frostbite Series races. For more information on working Race Committee, see the Race Management page. Note that skippers who have not served on Race Committee twice are not eligible to receive awards for their results in series races! See the SIs, Section 19, for details.
