Cherry Creek State Park is helping the Cherry Creek Marina community by applying for funding to renovate the aging sea wall and docks. This process will take time as all of the various Colorado State Parks have important projects that seek funding and only a certain number are fulfilled a year, but we look forward to our projects eventually becoming funded and completed.

Sailing Instructions for the 2024 Series races are now LIVE on the website: www.denversailing.org/2024/02/2024-series/Take note of a new check-in process covered under item 14.1. During check-in "each boat shall sail by the RC Boat while RC is flying the Code Flag L, hail her boat type, sail number, and ***scored DSA member name*** and be acknowledged by RC with a return hail of her sail number." Why the new rule? This will allow those using rental/loaner sailboats to be scored properly. The same boat may be used by multiple members throughout a season, so we will be attributing scores to individual scored DSA member names instead of the boat's sail number.

Big THANK YOU to the volunteers that came out and helped us put a beautiful new coat of paint on the club house. We were able to get 90% of it done.Last steps of setting up with be done next week, before our first race next Saturday, when we've got better, less windy weather.
To help make launching boats easier, beach launch access will be expanded by the end of April. Below is a satellite image of the marina beach next to the dry storage lot. You can see shadows on the beach where the current pylons and chains fence off the beach launching area. The pylons will be moved back to roughly the red line and those interested in some mechanical assistance may park a car at the red rectangle and use a winch on their dollies.
Join us TOMORROW 10am-2pm at the DSA club house to help set up for the sailing season. Some of what we'll be working on are...- Painting the club house- Sanding the wooden decks and stairs- Placing out the race course marks- Setting out the picnic tables + tents- Fixing light fixtures- Dusting + cleaning the club house interior***Weather reports are currently predicting 47F with scattered showers for tomorrow. We'll get as much done as we can and finish anything left on a rain date.***
