Racing Recap

See Scores here.

Day 1 — Saturday – was a wild day on the lake, with northwesterly winds 14 – 25 MPH and gusts to 30 MPH. One keelboat suffered a broken mast and another needed a tow-in due to a broken traveler.  One Lightning capsized momentarily but got immediately righted with cockpit full of water; another nearly capsized, as did all of the Lasers.  Four races were run, and competitors were off the water by 3:30 PM, in time for an excellent post-race dinner.  Here are photos, taken by DSA member Keith Bennett, and more photos, taken by DSA member Greg Schertz..  There were 13 competitors on the keelboat course and eleven on the dinghy course.

Day 2 — Sunday — a day with weather the complete opposite of Saturday – northerly winds 0 to 5 MPH — a warmer day with a high overcast that burned off after the boats had returned to the dock for the awards ceremony and snacks.  The RC got off just two races before it was time to come in.  More to follow soon.
